a WiFi-enabled cryptocurrency price display system built with Arduino Uno R4 WiFi and a 2.8" TFT touch screen.


The Project: CryptoViewer


The CryptoViewer is a compact, standalone device that connects to WiFi, fetches real-time cryptocurrency prices from the CoinGecko API, and displays them on an interactive TFT screen. It features:


  • Interactive WiFi Setup: Users can select and connect to WiFi networks directly through the device interface

  • Automatic Credential Management: WiFi credentials are securely stored on an SD card for seamless reconnection

  • Live Price Updates: Real-time cryptocurrency prices refresh every 60 seconds

  • Visual Price Trends: A dynamic sparkline graph displays price movements over time

  • Multi-Coin Support: View prices for Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Cardano, Dogecoin, and more

  • Serial Control: Easy cryptocurrency switching via Serial Monitor commands


Technical Highlights


Built using the Arduino Uno R4 WiFi platform and an ELEGOO 2.8" TFT Touch Screen with SD Card Shield, this project demonstrates:


  • WiFi Connectivity: Robust network scanning and connection management

  • API Integration: Seamless integration with CoinGecko's cryptocurrency API
