A Technical Data Package (TDP) is a comprehensive description of an item that includes data such as models, drawings, specifications, standards, performance requirements, quality assurance provisions, software documentation, and packaging details. TDPs define the physical and functional characteristics of an item, its assemblies, subassemblies, and parts. There are three TDP levels:
Conceptual level: Defines design concepts and includes simple sketches, artist renderings, and text.
Developmental level: Provides data for specific design approaches, prototype fabrication, and production.
Product level: Defines the item for manufacturing. TDPs play a crucial role in maintenance planning, supply support strategies, configuration management, and training.
This week, we are discussing and demonstrating the practical usage of TDPs on our YouTube channel. If you're a fan of tutorials and guides with regards to 3D modeling and animation, design, engineering, CAD/CAM/CAE, and much more, head on over to our channel!
Also, don't forget to RSVP to our upcoming webinar! We will be live on YouTube discussing all things MBD - with expert knowledge from our founder and CEO, Stephen Samuel. Click here to register!
